The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in Zamboanga City and Isabela City (PESO- ZAMBOISA) , in a joint conference, elected its new set of officers for the year 2013-2018 last August 13, 2013 at the conference room of the Department of Labor and Employment, Region IX.

Elected were Ms. Florence Alcazar (Western Mindanao State University), president, Mr. Alexius D. Silorio (Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology), vice president, Ms. Antoniette M. Ganado (Southern City Colleges), secretary, Ma Lourdes T. Buenaventura (Claret College of Isabela), auditor, Edna D. Juanito( Unibersidad de Zamboanga), PIO, and Luvisminda Tugahan (Zamboanga Polytechnic College), treasurer. Also included in the set of officers are Ms Lourdes Francisco (LGU-Zamboanga City) and Ms. Otilla Ricablanca (LGU-Isabela City) as consultants/advisers.

DOLE Regional Director Sisinio B. Cano inducted them into office and he exhorted them to do their best as they perform their duties in nation building. Also during the meeting, the PESO managers attending were briefed on the Kasambahay Law by Atty. Kate Santos, which served as an input to their plan of activities for the remaining months of the year.

Prexy Alcazar also revealed plans to hold regular meetings every 2nd Wednesday of the month, to discuss Job Fairs scheduling in consultation with the career guidance counselors, drafting of the constitution and by-laws, basic trainings for new PESO managers, use of social media in its advocacy activities such as Facebook and revival of the yahoo group as well as the upcoming National PESO Congress in Palo, Leyte.

In the same breath, she asked for assistance from the DOLE Zamboanga City Field Office for the realization of the officers' vision for the next five years.
