Zamboanga City - A unified registration of employers and domestic workers or kasambahay will be conducted on July 28, 2013, from 8:00am to 5:00 pm at Barangay Sta. Maria covered court, this city, by the government agencies involved in the implementation of Republic Act No. 10361 entitled "An Act Instituting Policies for the Protection and Welfare of Domestic Workers".

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Director Sisinio B. Cano disclosed that the registration of employers and kasambahay will be undertaken in partnership with the different partner-agencies such as the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), City Government of Zamboanga, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC), Social Security System (SSS), Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), Employees Compensation Commission (ECC) and the Barangay Council of Sta.Maria.

The host barangay, headed by Barangay Chairman Justo Lacandalo, will provide the venue including the necessary facilities to ensure the success of the registration. He initially reported that information dissemination has been conducted informing his constituents with kasambahays to give time during the registration to be able to avail of the services of the concerned agencies.

During the registration, PhilHealth will immediately process the identification cards of the kasambahays using their latest information technology.

The registration is open to employers and kasambahays in the city where Barangay Chairman are requested to disseminate the information to their respective residents for the kasambahays to avail of the services offered by the said agencies.
